It's a pretty weak graphical output, a little better than an XBox or PS2. And don't expect to see the same games that are normaly released on the PS3 or 360, most of them won't be there. They'll have more origional titles from the same developers and spin-off games from established franchises.

For example Resident Evil 5 won't be on the Wii, but Capcom has said they'll be releasing a different Resident Evil game. There were a lot of Resident Evil spin-off games on the GameCube and since the controler is so much different I think you'll see a lot more of that.

I have a Wii and the controller is pretty freakin cool. I'm not just a fanboy, either. I thought it sorta sucked when I was playing the Wii Sports package, but then I poped in Zelda and it blew my mind how great the controls were. This exlempifys Nintendo's primary strength, which is creativity. You can expect to find things on the Wii that you won't see anywhere else and often enough, those things are pretty freakin cool. Nintendo has a diverse line up of established game franchises (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, StarFox, etc) and do some really neat things with them.

Where each GTA game is basicly an expanded version of the last one, each Zelda game is very different with it's own flavor and experince.

It's more interactive than other gaming systems. Also, they intend to make quite a few of the games from their old consoles playable on the Wii, though you do have to buy them again when you download them. It costs a heck of a lot less than the PS3.

But it's hardware isn't as nifty as the PS3. And Nintendo's still trying to break away from the mostly-kids-games image they have, there may not be many mature rated games made for it.

Well take it from someone that camped out to get a Wii.
The graphics are amazing, it has breathtaking colors and the Wii remote and nunchuk controllers are so easy and fun to use!!!The Wii is no doubt Nintendo's smallest system!!!I've only seen one drawback, it dosen't play dvd's, but it has been said that in 2007 dvd capabilities will come to Wii, but I don't know if it will come internally or as an attachment.I reccomend Wii to everyone, though!!!
