No, never. Things were never that bad in my home to make me run away. Plus I liked having hot meals and showers.

When I was about four.I went outside to the front nature strip at the front of our house and sat under the oak tree.I was so determined that I was never going to go back home, that was until i needed to go to the toilet and started getting hungry.

I was 14 years old, thought I was "in love" with a rebel. We actually made it to Midland, thanks to his sister's help in getting us some bus tickets, but we hadn't thought about much past that. Come to find out, when we called his sister, the answering machine had picked up before she could get to it, so our whole conversation was recorded. His mom called my mom, and we were picked up there. Really, by that time I was REALLY scared, and was glad when we were caught. Can you imagine how differently my life would have turned out? There was an angel watching out for me that day...

I've left home as an adult to study overseas--it felt like I was running away, because I was away from all of my responsibilities!!! Believe me, it felt great!
