I know that this is more of a medical question that I should be asking my doctor, but...

what do you guys think about this... every so often i feel like my brain is on set on fast forward. Noises are louder and everyday tasks seem to whiz by, I cannot tell myself to slow down I have to lay down for 10-15 minutes for this feeling to go away. Any ideas?

I sounds like you are under stress. Stress can do this to you, but an illness can do the same thing. You should have a check up soon. I suffered post traumatic stress syndrome I have had similar symtoms and things seem louder to me!

I'd talk to someone. I worked in psyche for a few years before going into law. It sounds like you are describing "racing thoughts". If so, it could be an early form of psychosis. Many of the patients I had spoke about this right before they had a psychotic break. Sounds terrible and scary, but it's just like any othr kind of illness. If you developed diabtees, you'd just treat it. Psychosis, today, is no different. With therapy and a medication regiment, most people with mental illness live a long a prosperous life. Good luck.

Like you said this is definitely a medical question. But that seems similar to the feeling some people experience who take drugs. If you are on some type of medication & you suddenley stop taking it you might feel that way also. You may also be experiancing mania which is a state of elation or highper activity, kind of the opposit of deppresion. You really need to take this seriously and see a doctor.

i have a problem called manic depression and I'm in the mania part that may be the problem because i go through that,or it may be simple anxiety.it takes a while to diagnose this stuff through a shrink, then the meds they give you have horrible side effects.if this problem lasts 6 months or more and is screwing you up see a doc,not a social worker.I'm 52 yrs.,old and nuts ,do you want to spend years with a shrink who are fruit cakes themselves?no way.once they get hold of your wallet they will be seeing you for ever.only if this is totally messing you up see a head shrink. if not write it off to to much beer or pot.good luck.
