I've seen these cute things, they look like coupons, you can write in stuff like "one hour of house cleaning" or "three errands done with a cheerful smile", etc. You can pick and choose what your mother may need done....and put them in a sweet card.

I dont know what means "I dont have much money to spend" to you. Is it under twenty dollars? ten? here you go.
1. Give service instead of money. Clean out her car and vacuum it. Get it washed at the car wash. spray febreze, wash her floor mats, use upholstery cleaner on her seats, and get her a new air freshener to swing from the rearview mirror. Put a big bow on the car and then go show her on christmas morning.
Do something nice for her that she doesnt expect. Vacuum the entire house after using carpet powder on it. Bake cookies for her office christmas party so she doesnt have to. Do all the laundry and put it away. put a big red bow on the washer and dryer with an explanation...it would be cute. Clean out the fridge. Do something that she dreads so that she doesnt have to do it. You could also give her a pedicure or manicure along with the nail polish.

2. Whatever she likes, get her something small that is related to it. If she likes painting her nails, some nail polish and remover would be nice. If she likes to be warm, a pair of knitted gloves or a muffler.
3. Do you do anything that you could make for her? crochet? sew? Do you have a cd burner so you could make her a mix tape? I know that I would love to have some of my older albums on CD, too.
4. Buy something used that you would know that she wouldlike. I have been to goodwill and seen things there with the tags still on, or they look very lightly used, as in worn once, washed and donated.
Hope this helps, kiddo, hang in there.

My daughter did this for me one year and its the most precious thing I have...she bought a scrap book and a bunch of cute things you can buy for scrap books...and made each page a special memory...she'd put a photo in and a story, glue in a ticket stub to some fun place we went to...put in a special card from a birthday...it was a progression of my life from when her dad and I met, to each of their births to the present and then she said I could continue it and all special memories from hereon it...it was great.

She also made me a video on my birthday...the ten top things I love about mom...and got 10 different people from family and friends to say something about me...this year she gave me a "spa"...each room in the house was a different thing...massage...facial...manicure...etc.

Have I got the greatest daughter or what?

If you really want to just buy her something buy a basket, and buy all kinds of dollar store items she may need around the house...there are some great dollar stores...or just buy a bottle of wine, two nice glasses, some chocolates or cookies and make a basket of sorts.

How about just spending the day together, just the two of you? Making it a Mom and You Day? Or give her a day off and cook for her and do all the things she would normally do?

Does she collect anything? Or like anything in particular? For instance I collect angels and I LOVE snowmen. If she likes or collects something, go to the dollor store and got a lot of what she likes (like for me a bunch of snowmen). Put them all in a pretty basket and add a nice bow.

Get her something for her to pamper herself with, like some nicely scented bubble bath or bath oil or beads, she will love being able to take some time to herself and soak in a nice hot tub of scented water.

try to get the old pictures, cut out some old cards, make a beautiful and memorable photo album. incorporate the picture with the old cards given- to kind of describe the picture with card story and decorate the cover with laces and ribbons. you can go to arts and crafts to accomplish the task, its not going to cost a lot of money but it worth all the efforts, your mom will love and cherish it. its one of those gift that will be priceless....
