how do you work youtube?

i tried to load my video but after it said your video has been downloaded it wasnt there...do they have 2 approve it first or something?

Depending on the length of the video, it may take a little while for their software to convert it. While you may upload your video in an avi, mpg, or mov file the youtube site has to convert and encode it so that they reduce the bandwidth being used to view the videos on their site.
