Every single string I've gotten out this year has been only half lit. Even the new strings I bought last year. Is there some way to prevent this, or to fix it? It's so aggravating!

You'll have to try to find the bad bulb on the second half that isn't working. Take an extra bulb and try each one.....it's easier just to buy new lights.

So you will buy more? I'm going to decorate for the first time in 10 years. I saw a giant thing to put on the lawn that looks like a snow globe. It's tasteless, gaudy & I'm going to buy it & put it out there! I'm even going to bake cookies which I used to do. I think I'm dying after this year.

Well, the odds are 1 out of a 100 will burn out, so you have a very good chance of have the problem that you currently have.

you shoulda bought the more expensive kind that dosent burn out when only one light burns out.
now you gotta find the one that is broken, and replace it. the broken one is breaking the circuit, not allowing other lights to light up.

USUALLY MEANS THATR ITS A SERIES CIRCUIT. NOT ALL BULBS ARE BAD BUT WHEN ONE BULB BURNS OUT THE WHOLE STRAND QUITS. CHECK EACH BULB.

GOD BLESS
