Catcher tend to have shorter careers, since their job is tougher. They also tend to have lower batting averages. Also with a few exceptions they generally don't hit as many HR's. So who were the best 10 catchers, since 1900, and back up your claim with AVG., HR's, or whatever you think makes them the BEST. Thanks!

Wow, that is a goood question, I am a bit prejudiced towrds the Yankees, but I think historically this still valid. The best catchers of my youth are Bench, Fisk or Munson.

Hey Disgraced, it was Jackie Robinson, not Hank Aaron.

In retrospect I think Gibson could be #1 but he was not allowed to play at the same time as many of his contemporaries, by far he is the best hitter of the bunch.
