i dont know what other people are smoking but you dont have to use itunes only. i downloaded my music from other sources and they went onto my ipod just fine. you just click and hold on the song from your shared folder and slide it over to the itunes playlists. easy as 123. but i guess some other people are just technologically challenged.

it is not true. you can use any source to download music (that is of course up to you which one you choose) and your itunes library will immeadiately recognize the song file (as long as it is set up to sync with that folder). It does not check where you downloaded the song or if you got it from itunes. After you download the song you want from where ever you want, find out where that dl'ing program stores the music, then go to itunes, file, add song/add folder to library, and then select the song/folder that u want in your itunes library. then just drag and drop to your ipod nano. happy holidays!
