Slope = rise / run = (-2-0)/(-4-[-4]).

Slope= -2/0

Anything divided by 0 is nonsense. This is usually the basis of proofs which claim to prove that one equals two, or some other nonsense.

As stated by a previous answerer, the line is vertical and has no slope.

you take the 2nd y value and subtract the 1st y value over the 2nd x value minus the 1st x value. in this case the slope would undefinable because it would be -2/0 which isn't a real number because you can't divide by zero

hope this helped!

(y-y) 0-(-2) 2
------= --------= ----= no slope therefore vertical line

I won't do the problem for you, but the formula you need is, Y2-Y1 over X2-X1... We'll say (-4,0) is X and Y1 and (-4,-2) is X and Y2.

Plug in the numbers, and be sure to watch out for double negatives.
