Yes, yes, and yes again!! This bike is absolutely awesome!! I restored one last year, and they are very fast, and have 86 horsepower. Their only downfall was the oil wouldn't get to the top of the heads and you would end up with cam problems. But this bike is a classic, one of the absolute first crotch rockets to come out. Keep it, and restore it. Parts can easily be found on Ebay. You will be happy you did.

It depends on the extent of the damage, the cost of parts required, and your ability. I was looking at an 83 interceptor last year that was wrecked. It ran fine and had a straight frame, however the extent of the damage was far beyond the value of the bike even with me doing all the work. If memory serves me correctly the blue book on it was between 1200 and 1400 in good condition. After pricing body parts and front forks I would have been into the bike 1800.

If the bike was a collector such as a Harley or Indian then yes it would be worth it. If you have a fondness for that type of bike then again its worth it, just don't expect your money back. Or if you want or need the experience then again it may be worth it. Otherwise the cost of the bike would be beyond the value you could expect to receive for the finished bike.

Research the parts you need as for availability and price and then total them up and see where it sits, Be sure to leave a couple hundred extra for those little things you don't count on.

Honda motorcycles are regularly sturdy. it is annoying to locate a popular bike for basically $2000 so that's a life like deal. i might communicate him all the way down to approximately $1000 or so if it is in fairly sturdy shape. how many miles are on it? The bike isn't too effective while in comparison with the main present day breed of activities motorcycles which placed out nicely over 100bhp from 600cc. basically make certain you're taking a bike risk-free practices course first and you would be waiting to handle it high quality.

Well, they were pretty cool bikes back in their day, however, I don't think they are especially valuable. You could probably get some info by going into yahoo groups and searching for Honda Interceptor, I'd wager that there are more than one forum for those bikes. Also consider vjmc.com (vintage japanese motorcycle club), probably a wealth of info.
