In general, yes, particularly if it was a well-chosen one (as in, it's in a field you have interest, enough people with whom to network, something interesting to learn, etc.) Good for making connections and learning something about what the "real world" is like and perhaps determining if this field/area is something you actually are interested in...or not. Can look good on your transcript/resume, depending.

I think so. More than likely you will not have a choice whether or not to do an internship, in some degrees it's required. But in general, yes, it's worth it. Choose where you intern carefully and you may have a career there once you graduate.

Absolutely!

It's a free reference in your desired field at the very least. Often times it means an easy "in" to markets which are very choosy about their staff, especially in the medical field. They can watch your work ethic, they can really get a good understanding of who you are when they can work next to you.

I was hired as a full time regular a week before my internship was over. I continued up the ladder quite quickly after that as well. In a field where women dominate, you can assume power faster than in a male dominated career.

I cannot stres that enough.
the right internship can be your ticket to your future.
the people you meet can be useful contacts later in your career.
just ask the guy who plays jim on the office.
he usted to be a intern on late night.

Yeah, experience will definitely put you ahead of the crowd then someone with just a degree w/o experience.
