Xbox because even though the PS3 is sweet in terms of technology, it'll be at least another year before they become regularly available.
A lot of the same games come out for both platforms so besides the "sony exclusive" games, you're not missing much. Plus, Halo 3??? It's one of the most anticipated releases for the 360 thathas yet to be released so you would have that to look forward to.
360 is incredibly cheaper than the ps3 and its more established online with xbox live than the ps3 currently is. Until the ps3 finally gets off the ground which will take some time, I'd go with the 360.

most definitely an xbox 360 the ps3 is over rated and ridiculously priced. The ps3 really hasn' t improved that much over the graphic detail that you get with the 360. Why pay more for the same thing.

PS3 is 1 year newer. And in the tech world, thats like 10 years.
PS3 with WiFi and HD Disk = $600
360 with WiFi and HD Disk = $700
PLUS the PS3 has 40GIG larger hard drive.
Sony is more consumer friendly system, microsoft wants you locked in with subscription services and is very closed to external media.

xbox 360 because the PS3 is 600$!!! that is way to much to ask your a game system. And if you dont like either, i really suggest the Wii, it is awsome!!

PS3 because it has the best graphics!!! but for xbox360 and ps3, u need a high def tv....have fun!
