I thought the $2 was out of circulation. When I researched this, I was suprised to see that they are just horded.

Nine times out of ten, most young tellers won't know what you're talking about. Ask to speak to the Head Teller or the Manager to see if you can have the bank make a "Change Order" from the Federal Reserve and charge the amount to your account. Tell this person what you're requesting. By the way,how many bills are in a stack, lol?

Your bank SHOULD be able to order those for you if they don't have any. I'm a teller, and I receive $2 bills everyday. They come in packs of $100. But... Like I said, the bank can order a pack and hold $50 worth for you.

Ask the "huh?" teller to get another teller - one with a brain!
I like to use $2 bills to tip with on cruises - I have my bank order them for me. Just give them a bit of notice & they can get you all that you want.

Your teller was obviously new or just plain uninformed that the U.S.A. has two dollar bills in circulation. Go back... hit up a different teller and get as many as you desire.
I generally get $100 at a time and have no problem !!!

Call the banks and credit unions in your area. Usually the larger instituions keep a supply of these on hand...especially during the holidays!

I work for a bank and we never order them or even keep them. I don't even think we can order them from the FRB. It isn't aavailable on their cash order screen.
