Cause They Are Beautiful And Its To Let Other People See It And to Acknowledge it. Because Probably Many People Think Blacks Are Unattractive And every race Does it So Stop Being Racist.

Actually, we don't. What about the bottle blonde silicone filled white women who do the exact same thing?
For a long time society has defined our standards of beauty. There are not many black women who are considered beautiful by societies standards. Unless they dye their hair, get a weave, put in some contacts, etc. We're not reminding ourselves, we're reminding all of the shallow, closed-minded people who do not understand that beauty comes in all shapes and colors.

Why are you focused on the fact that black people think they're beautiful? Could it be that people who see Black is connected to Beauty are the real ones suffering from low self esteem? As a child I was always taught that people who have low self esteem attack others, because that's the only way they feel worthy of themselves. LoL.

this is because, unfortunately, black people have been taught, for centures, to hate their hair, their noses, their lips, and all the other physical attributes associated with African descent. no race on this earth has been taught they are ugly, more than black folks have been. just look at tv, magazines, movies, and the way black people have been portrayed by these avenues of communication. in order to be accepted as beautiful, we have to burn our hair with chemicals, get nose jobs, starve ourselves thin, and... i'm not even going to mention what michael jackson did!

and what about all those people out there who'd prefer to date/ marry any race EXCEPT black, for fear of "what the kids will look like!"

now tell me again that black people don't need SOMEONE to remind us we are beautiful! (because you all sure don't!)

I don't see why you say that it is overused, I don't know too many people who says that about themselves. Stop watching so much MTV. Maybe it's because some people tell themselves that when they get to feeling that they aren't so they encourage themselves and others instead of encouraging themselves, kill themselves or get surgery and change the way that God created them to be, we all just need to accept who we are and move on......IT IS WHAT IT IS!!!!!!!

"we is beautiful" - so not only are we insecure, but we're ignorant too?

I'm just proud of my heritage. I can only trace my family back a few generations, then it's all lost for me, but I do know that those that came before me suffered a lot so that I can enjoy the life that I have now, which is pretty damn great. That's what's beautiful. I'm sure lots of ethnic groups have similar pride in their heritage too.

Because ignorant people remind us that the white race is beautiful ALL THE TIME.

Oh yeah, every black person wakes up and recites the words "we is beautiful" every morning, lol, pretty steep generalization there.
