I have cable at present. Is there a service faster than that?

Depends.

How fast is your cable connection? www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/

T1 is 1.544 Mbps.
DSL is up to 7-8 Mbps (but rates can vary significantly based on a few factors)
Cable is up to 7-8 Mbps (but rates here can vary as well).

I use RoadRunner right now, and I have clocked it at 6 Mbps, but it varies. RoadRunner offers some juiced-up version that is supposedly even faster, but I haven't really checked into it. And I don't believe it can exceed 8Mbps but could be wrong.

Well if you'd rather spend a fortune, you can use T1, T3, or call your cable provider and ask for higher speeds downloading/uploading, some have different speeds with varying prices.

Cable is not service and cannot be compared with service.
