I prefer Target, it is a few cents higher, but it is always clean, the isles arent just crammed full of junk, they have great clearance shelves, The stores are easy to navigate and they seem to carry a little higher end product.

Wal Mart is usually less expensive, and Ican find a Wal mart store more often than Target, so Wal Mart is my favorite, but...Target has some things that Walmart just doesnt, like their candle dept. is awesome, so I go there occasionally.
And for all of you who do not shop at Wal mart because of the way they treat their employees or their health care issues etc. I actually went out and interviewed tons of Wal Mart employees as well as other retail compertitors employees...those wal Mart employees for the most part liked their jobs and work situation, just as much as any other retail employee did. I just had to do this so I could finally put this argument to rest w/ my brother the "union employee~Anti Wal Mart, and my mom the small business owner~anti- Walmart.
BTW my mom who has since retired and lives on a fixed income, finally shops at Wal mart and cant beleive how much more she used to pay for the same thing elsewhere. My brother is still the brainwashed union guy, no hope. Wal Mart isnt perfect, but it sure is a nice way to stretch your dollar.

TARGET!
And here's why:
~Wider aisles
~cleaner look
~clean bathrooms
~better lighting, I get a headache when I'm in walmart
~better quality and trendier clothes
~progressive atmosphere...I want to look "put together" when I go to Target. When I go to Walmart, I don't care and will just wear pj bottoms and a raggity t-shirt, cause that's what everyone else is wearing too.
~friendlier and more helpful employees
~everyone is just in a better mood at Target. Everyone is on edge at Walmart cause they are searching for things they can't find in aisles that are way too narrow in a store way too crowded.

Target is better because it invites customers with a sense of balance in the finance category, in that these are not going to be the same kind of people you will find as a "majority" that frequent Wal-Mart. Target's merchandise, even on the low end, is of better quality also.

I do shop at Wal-Mart when I am looking for bargains on items that I know will not last long (i.e., holiday items, etc.) or the lower price on toiletry items - even make-up. A few cents saved turns into dollars. But sheets, coverlets, and such are things I would not buy at Wal-Mart, as I know the quality is not substantial.

Walmart has just about everything...Target has a much better selection of "different" things that Walmart doesn't have...

It depends on what I'm shopping for. When it comes to toiletries and food, I prefer Wal-Mart. Both stores have similar selections in those regards, but Wal-Mart is cheaper. Target's better for just about everything else. They have better quality clothes, shoes, and house-hold decorations. Also, since Target doesn't restrict "Parental Advisory" CDs to those that have been edited, I prefer them for music as well.

I like Target the best. I always feel like I'm buying from the enemy with Walmart. Walmart has put a lot of smaller businesses out of business.

Different for everyone. Overall, for clothes, Target, because you are getting a better deal, but since not everyone can afford it, Walmart seems better.
For general stuff, Walmart because they have it and its cheap
