Too much to give highlights in this forum, but here are a few high points.
Snape becomes DADA teacher.
New character "Slughorn" is new potions master
Harry borrows/steals an old potions book that is filled with mysterious potion-making tips that make him suddenly the "best" potions student.
Dumbledore giove Harry private lessons, in which they study memories and gain clues to Voldemort's possible weaknesses.
Dumbledore tasks Harry to retrieve a Memory from Slughorn
(The memory deals with how young Tom Riddle (Voldemort) decided to split his soul and save the bits of it in "horcruxes". These prevent him from being able to die.)
Ron and Hermione become a couple
Harry learns how to Apparate.
Harry and Ginny Weasley become a couple
Harry is convinced that Malfoy and Snape are plotting to kill Dumbledore.
Dumbledore assures Harry that Snape is acting exactly as Dumbledre expects him to.
Harry and Dumbledore learn about 7 posible splinters of Voldemort's soul, and go on a quest to retrieve and destroy one that they know about.
The quest goes badly, the horcrux has already been stolen, and Dumbledore is gravely injured.
As Harry and Dumbledore return to the castle, Malfoy is waiting to kill him but can't pull the trigger.
Snape appears and a shocking event happens

Magically Harry's voice changes and he gets hair in really weird places. Meanwhile that little red haired kid notices how soft Harry's skin looks.
