Because of what you think about that "something". For example, like socializing to different people. You can talk normally with your family(I hope) because you have grown accustomed to them. But if there is some new teacher at school, and he/she is relli scary and she/he piks on u to answer questions and stuff, you can easily get shy. i recommend army cadetsXD

I have an AMAZING story about this guy that used to be shy. I met him this weekend. His story breaks my heart... :(
But to answer your question, I don't know why we are shy. I am rarely shy. There just isn't enough time to be! :P

yea i agree,its fear...when i see someone cute and i know or think i want to be with him..i become so shy and fear that he wont like me,so i dont even talk to him and i even end up not talking to him the whole school year,im serious plus its happening right now,i havent talked to him,can someone help me!
