I'm 21 and she's 13. She's my cousin's girlfriend's little sister. I was hanging out over their house a couple weeks ago and we were all talking and watching TV together. I could tell that she had a little crush on me, but I thought nothing of it. But ever since then, this girl has been hounding me. She got my number out of my cousin's phone and has called me almost everday since then. She also lives just two blocks away and followed me home once. I'd talk to her about nothing for a few minutes just to be nice, but then she told me she wanted me to be her first boyfriend. I told her it was impossible because of the age difference and to stop calling me, but she kept calling and showed up at my house again when I wasn't there. Her older sister says she's a really sensitive and lonely girl, so I don't want to hurt her feelings. But I can't have this girl calling me and showing up at my house. What should I do?

Try telling her that you're not the only guy there.

No, you can't have this girl calling you and showing up at the house. Do exactly as you are doing. Be brief, say no, "gotta go". You are being very "kind" and you may have to get "really real" if she refuses to hear you. Where are her parents anyhow? It seems a little strange to me that they don't know what she is doing? It is the job of a parent to train and educate their children in social norms. This is abnormal and should not continue. And by the way, how is big sis helping out? Her 13-year-old sister doesn't seem to be that sensitive or by now she would have gotten the message. Big sis could be helpful, if she took her out for hot chocolate and had a big sister to little sister talk. It might solve the problem of "loneliness" also. If all else fails and she continues, call her dad and ask him to intervene.

We've all had our crushes on people who may be older than us, and at the tender age of 13, it is important that you respect her feelings. But it also important that you not lead her on. That being said, here is what I think you should do. Either call her/visit her or wait until she decides to pay you an unannounced visit, and explain to her that though she is a nice person, it would be ILLEGAL and morally wrong for you to date her, but you would love to have her as a friend. I'm sure she'll refuse, so tell her that if she persists, you will have no choice but to PERMANENTLY end your friendship, and ask her if that's what she wants. Tell her it's her choice, and you hope she makes the best decision so you can still be friends. If that approach doesn't work, maybe you could tell her that there is an "unwritten" rule that states that a guy cannot date someone related to his cousin's girlfriend b/c if they were to get married and his cousin married her sister than it would be weird. That answer is a little more complicated and less clear cut, but you get my idea. Just make sure she understands that she can either have you as a friend or not have you at all. I hope it works!!

Have the older sister explain to her the whole concept of jailbait and what could happen to you if she can't contain herself. Have the older sister tell her that if she doesn't leave you alone you will talk to her parents. Please ask the big sister to be nice about it. 13 is a very confusing age. The hormones just get dumped into your system all at once in a big tangled mess. I don't know how it is for boys, but it's quite an emotional time for a young girl.

Been there ....hadn't done that.Tell her she has to wait 5 years and graduate high school.By then she'll have been in love with several other guys too. I used to have this problem when I was around ten years old. By the time I had left high school no girls were interested anymore.I remember one time a couple of girls my father had lied to and said I wasn't home broke the window on the porch when they saw me sitting on the couch. It was creepy. They eventually gave up and became lesbians.

As uncomfortable as it is, I think it's time to let her parents know she's been doing this inappropriate behavior, because God forbid her next crush might be a perv.
