My dad taking me to work and letting me draw under his drafting table. I always drew castles. We would eat soup and sandwiches and talk and he would laugh. He never laughed much but he did then.

Being about 8 years old and riding my bike with some of my friends to Big Lake. Then we would spend all day long swimming and exploring caves. Sometimes we would stop by a shack where this strange old guy lived and ask to ride his horses (a scruffy lot of horses, I might add.) Then we would take the long way back get home just when the sun was setting. About a 10 mile round trip.
GOOD GRIEF!!! Could you even imagine allowing a child of that age doing that now! And the lake is in a remote area with railroad tracks running through the middle of the park. Holy cow. I would flip out if my kids ever did that.

,When my mom was ill, and my grandpa came to take care of her. He would sit me on his knee, and tell me stories about the good old days. He got me my first Black baby doll that I treasured so much. Now he is gone to the Lord, and I wish i could sit on his lap one more time and listen to his stories. He died at the age of ninety. in a fire.I miss him so much. God will take good care of him and I know he is watching me write this letter right now. God Bless you Grandpa.
