I would get her somthing like a bodywash basket from bath and body works. Hygene is really important to them these days. Or play it safe and get a giftcard. Some stores for a 13 year old girl would be like Claire's, Barnes and Nobles, a local mall, hollister, A & F, Aeropostale, or Macy's. You could also get her a CD player or a cute stuffed animal!

If she's 13, she's right on the verge of being a teenager obviously so aim toward that without over doing it. I would get her a pretty diary with a big lock on it, or the Nancy Drew books. Boxes of stationery are good too with matching pencils and pens. Throw in a couple of nice bars of pink soap or bath oil beads.

Go to Bath &Body Works. Every girl and woman loves that place. they have the American Girl collection aimed at young girls.....Not expensive either. Just about anything in there is a good bet. You can find ready to go gift sets for under $25!! If you truly don't know what fragrance to choose, get her a gift card!

go to your local mall:
make up. (mac, sephora; mainly lipgloss or eyeshadow shouldn't be more than $20.)
clothes. (abercrombie, hollister, pac sun, american eagle, aeropostle; anywhere from $15-$50.)
electronics (ipod, stereo, CDs; apple, FYE, sharper image; $15-$150)
gift certificate is the best bet though. just get one to your local mall for about $40 and she'll figure it out.

Girls at this age are starting to take pride in the way they looks and apperances,you could buy her some new clothes that she'd want. ,and it wont cost you an arm and a leg

you could get her a gift card to gift cards.com, where she could pick out where she wants the gift card to, andif you got her a 50 dollar gift card she could take 20 to borders, say, and 30 to claires accessories. that would be a winning gift!

you could buy an ipod(apple store), or girls almost always love clothes(macy's or any other places). you could also get her dvds(best buy, circut city, target). with the movies, you could get her a movie themed basket and put like pjs in it and pop corn. You could also get something from victoria's secret pink collection. Their sweats are really cute and comfy! good luck!
