i think we're both looking for the same film.
is it a bit christmassy and has silent night at the end when she 'wakes up'?
and there is a big bubbling clay pit on her adventures?
i have been looking for this for months but can't find anything. people always say labyrinth....
maybe this small bit of info will jog someone's memory.... please......

Are you thinking of the animated film, "The Big Friendly Giant"? It came out in 1989 and has a similar plot. You can get it at Amazon:

No idea, as I thought that you were talking about the Labirynth, I LOVE that movie, still, I think I'll get it on DVD!
