Never mind men needing space, women do too. I just plain like to be alone sometimes. I can't speak for him but I know that when he gets home from a day of skiing with friends he's relaxed and in a good mood. I know I am when I spend a day with friends. Gives us something to talk about later.

okey, like someone earlier mentioned men and women are not that different.I am a woman and i have asked for someone to just give me space...that i feel saffocated and yes i almost physically feel like i cant breath when someone is too doting or in my space...but i suppose it was because i was not really into that person. You know what he said when i asked if he did not need his space...and understand why i want mine? He said that life, love and relationships are about filling eachothers spaces..and that he wanted me to fill his and him to fill mine...then i understood.it all has to do with comittment and interest in the person. If he truely loves you, he would not want his space.

Not only men but everyone needs space. We r individuals (unless u r a siamese joined at the head). It helps create trust, interest, longing for each other, and most of all chases away boredom and predictability in realationships.

Because they dont know how to deal with their feelings and emotions. So they need time to process it. Might I add boys need space if you are dealing with a real man space is not an issue he is direct and know what he feels, but thats not always every guy.

The same reason all humans need some space. It is our time to learn about ourselves and reflect on our interactions with others. We use the time to pursue things that we like to do alone, not because we don't want company but because we like ourselves.

Men aren't all that different than women but people are different. Asking for space is usually a sign of a deeper problem.
