I've always found that you can kill boredom by doing something, ANYTHING that takes your mind off of doing nothing. Read a book, try a new recipe, make fun of TV... if you're actually lonely instead of just bored try calling or e-mailing people you haven't talked to in a while. Or if you're feeling silly prank call people that you know, sounds stupid but I swear that I've had hours of fun calling my friends using ridiculous accents and asking them to participate in a survey. Worst comes to worst you could always answer questions on here.....

Get your swimsuit and go swimming at a hotel
Or if you don't live near a hotel, make some food
If you don't have any food in your house, then take a drive
If you have no gas, then do a puzzle and listen to music
If you dont have a puzzle, then just get drunk.

Community service. It can sometimes be fun, you'd be helping people/animals/the environment and you'd also met new people. And you can also sleep well too knowing you've done a good deed.
