i'm using WinXP on my computer.. I need to get into DOS.. My floppy and my CDR dosnt work ..
How could I enter DOS?
P.S/ I mean DOS.. not cmd.

Start>run, then type CMD

Restart the PC, when you get to the BIOS screen press F8 or whatever key your BIOS tells you to for safe mode, then from the options, choose Command Prompt only and this will take you to the DOS screen. But if your floppy and CDR aren't working, make sure it's not a hardware issue or try using the Device Manager to troublshoot the issue.

You can get a free DOS called FreeDOS here: http://www.freedos.org

If you need to boot to DOS (not running it along with XP) your options are: put it on a different hard drive and temp. boot off of that hard drive, boot off of a USB memory stick, or fix/get a new floppy or CD drive.

What exactly do you mean by "my floppy and CD don't work" - do they just have problems in XP, or are they dead?

no dos on xp just cmd

in case you may get right of entry to device restoration, i might attempt that first. (initiate >> All classes >> upload-ons >> device kit >> device restoration ) Your CD tension could be ok if it is your D: tension.
