If she won't even take you for an x-ray, that sounds like it's bordering on child neglect and endangerment. Maybe it is "just" bruised or sprained, but what worries me is why she refuses to check it out to be sure. If she still refuses to take you, then hop your way to school and tell the school nurse exactly what you said here. Mom could be in deep doo-doo if it turns out to be fractured and she refused you medical attention.
Tell her what I said, and give her a chance to do the right thing, if not tell someone who is legally required to listen and report.

You have more bones in your foot that anywhere else in the body, some very tiny. It is possible to break one of the small bones and not have a "normal" reaction like when you break say your arm. I suggest you alternate heat and cold 20 min on, 20 min off. bruising and swelling can be either a sprain or a break. My ex husband broke his ankle, unknowingly and kept walking on it for years.. then he had to have laproscopic surgery to correct the issues it created by not being set when it was broken. I would give it one more day, if there is no improvement then go to the Doctor. good luck.

Ice it down, wrap it snugly with an elastic wrap.
A sprain won't let you walk on it either. Take a couple of aspirin to help kill the pain. Put it up and stay off of it. Walking on it just makes it worse. Broken or sprained.
Does it fall to the side like the bones aren't supporting your foot? I don't know how anyone on a web site can get your Mother to take you for an xray?
Just do all of the things in the first paragraph to make the swelling go down and make it feel better.

Ice it down for tonight. If your Mom still will not bring you in tomarrow morning, then go to the school nurse, or to a consular tomarrow morning right away, and explain what is going on. Tell them that you need to get medical attention immediately and that your mom doesn't seem to think so. Tell them that you need to know that they are going to make sure your mom will follow threw, as most likely they will be calling her to pick you up and bring you. Has you Mom said why she won't bring you? Possibly you need to call a family member that you trust this evening to try to convince Mom to get you some help as well. Good luck.

If you are really in pain and really believe that it is broken, call your friends and have them take you in. When you get there they are going to call your mom again, so that they can work on you. Tell her you were trying to walk up some steps and it went out from under you again and you are in so much pain that your friends brought you to the ER. If she takes you home without medical attention the doctors will most likely call social services on her for not letting them do their jobs. If your really lucky you can stall the hospital staff with some bogus numbers to where your mom might be and they can possibly have the X-rays done by the time you give them the correct number to where she is at.
How much pain are you in? Do you honestly believe that it is broken, without a doubt? Have you spoken with your dad about it? All up to you, how far you want to take this.

get it checked now as if it is not broken, you can have a severe sprain or fracture which is just as bad as a break.with fractures, the pain is severely and there is swelling and some discoloration to the ankle. i know this cause i fracture my ankle from a fall bout a month ago and also a nurse.

If its swolen and the bruisese are dark purple and even yellow its probably fractured or broken. Try yto find your doctors phone number and ask him/her for advice. And if ytour doctor will, try to get him/her to talk to your mom. But for now just keep ice on it to keep the swelling down and take a couple pain killers.

If nothing else, go see the school nurse. Maybe she will send you to the hospital and then your mom won't be able to ignore you. Isn't there another adult in your life you could talk to? Have them call your mom.

well, in all reality, your ankle is a joint, and you can't break a joint...but you could have still hurt it, and if your mom is a good mother, she would take you to the E.R. and have it checked just to be on the safe side.
or, you can call 911 and let them know that you've been hurt, and your mother refuses to take you to get medical attention...that might make her think twice ;)
