Depends on if it's a Mac or a PC, but it's basically the same in both. Go into your internet explorer, tools, internet options, delete files & delete cookies. This won't make your computer run faster. It could be a number of things, your hard drive could be full or close to it, you could have a virus, or your computer is just slow and nothing short from changing parts will fix it.

Here are 3 steps to delete your internet files, make your computer to run faster and more efficiently, and also how to clear your computer of unnecessary files.
1) To delete all of your internet records:
Tools> Internet options...
Under the Temporary Internet files section click on Delete Cookies, then OK. Click on delete files, and click the check box that says delete offline content then click OK.
Under the History section click Clear History, then click yes.
2) Also use the disk defragmenter tool :
Start> All programs> Accessories> System tools> Disk Defragmenter> Defragment.(WILL TAKE AWHILE DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH CONTENT YOU HAVE ON YOUR COMPUTER SO JUST LET IT RUN AND CHILL OUT)
3) Also use the disk cleanup tool:
Start> All programs> Accessories> System tools> Disk Cleanup.
It will say something like disk clean up is determining how much space it will be able to clear....
after that click OK.

well, doing that wont do the trick, which you need is some more ram, if you are running win. xp 1 gig should do the trick, you should also scan your computer for viruses, adware and spyware sometimes they wont do bad things to your computer but instead will just slow it down......if all that dosent work, try a faster harddrive or proccer, if the computer is a desktop try intel core 2 duo, laptop, go with intel centrio
if you still want to delete your files, for the internet files run disk cleanup, and make sure temp. internet files is selected as for files, get a harddrive wiper progrm to delete it all

The easy and quick way to restore file and activity History is the System Restore feature. Since much history is saved into the Windows Registry, restoring it to a previous state will restore file and program History. Revert your computer back to the desired date and enjoy restored History. If a user has used eraser track programs such as Ad-aware or Spybot, this method will not work and you will need to access the lesser known log files that Windows keeps (the "index.dat" files). Search for "index.dat" on your computer, you will need to download Super WinSpy to view them. If a user has used advanced tools to erase usage tracks, program logs, registry history and the index.dat files such as CCleaner restore is more difficult. Try using a disk editor to directly access hard disk sector, but even this may not work if the user has chosen the "secure" delete option in CCleaner or has used programs such as BCWipe. So you need to run CCleaner to delete all traces of your online activity including the index.dat files making a restore nearly impossible - just make sure to enable the "secure" delete option. CCleaner is free and highly recommended.

Start, programs, system tools, disk cleanup and then select temporary internet files.
Go to IE's option menu, select the 'browsing history' button and in the new window select 'delete files' and 'delete cookies'.

Do not go crazy and delete everything. Use CCleaner (google it to find the website) and it should speed up your computer. Really helps. If this does not work, ur computer just might be ancient, no offense.
