I'm 12 years old, and I know all of the MBTA transit/Bus routes very, very well. I'm responsible, and i know that things can happen to people, but i want to be able to travel a little bit on my own. Should i be allowed to, and how far? (My parents object to this idea)

Maybe slowly get them to agree. First have them come with you, and then mabe be able to go with several strict regulations (you must call every 15 min, can only go in daytime, etc...)
Or maybe try if you can get someone to come with you, like a neighbor or a friend. It also depends on where you live, etc... (each city differs in safety)
I think that maybe you should wait a year or so, or always travel accompanied, or with a cell phone, etc... Its better to be safe than sorry.
I'm allowed to use the metro with other people- I went from downtown Bethesda to Tysons Corner (for all those who know in the DC area) with my sister who is 3 years older than me.

You have to follow your parents rules. Some routes may be dangerous at certain times.

I'm sorry, but you shouldn't be allowed to ride by yourself. The reason is simple, honey. There are people out there who would LOVE to take advantage of you and your innocence. If you don't understand that. . . ask your parents!!
