Ignore the blindness and the 'used to his home' bits- they are not really part of the issue. The frog will get used to a new home easily.
If the zoo is REALLY interested in it (quite honestly, most zoos really don't want donations), then ask about their plans and share the plans with your child.
This is really your child's decision. The frog would get good care in either location (although traditionally zoos are better than private collections.)

Well that must be a rare frog.
But if your child wants to keep that pet its up to him.
And if its really alot of work give it to the zoo or maybe ask some of the zookeepers how to care for the frog in ways so that you can do the same at home.

I def think u need to find it a home like @ the zoo! Maybe you can get a diff pet for ur child, one that he/she wil like & know how to take care of:) Maybe a hamster or a bunny? Those are cute and dont require too much.

Give him to the Zoo. They have much better conditions for him to live in and better medical care for him too; plus they can study him and you can go see him at the zoo and tell everyone he was yours.
I am sure they will let you visit him if you ask them as a condition of giving him to them

If you know how to care for it properly, keep it. If you want to share it with the world, give it to the zoo. Good question but hard to answer because I personally would be torn between the two suggestions I just gave. :(
