There are good books on the subject. I know of such a book but, unfortunately, I don't know the name or the author of it. I think it was a collection of political cartoons by Theodore Geisel a.k.a Dr. Seuss. Look for it in the history section of Barnes and Noble or see if it's at your local library.

You might want to check some of Bill Mauldin's work, too.
