Well I guess I fall into the grumpy category myself. My daughters always make me happy by just being around. But when they cook my favorite food it really cheers up the old grouch in me. I like the idea someone suggested about hot cocoa. That always makes us grumpy old guys happy. Any gift from you will be special to him. The less expensive the better cause he will worry you spent to much on him. Merry Christmas. Your Grandpa is lucky to have a thoughtful Granddaughter.

Well, I loved the idea that someone gave to you about a picture of the two of you. I would try to just give him your love. If you can cook maybe make breakfast for him. I liked the idea that someone gave to you also about making something for him. The best gift of all though is you. Just love your grandfather be patient, kind, caring and oh yes be silly. Do something funny to make him smile even just a little smile will do the trick. He will no just how much you care.

Awww! Get your Grampa something with caffeine in it, some coffee, cocoa, ? Give him a great big hug and kiss and tell him that his quitting smoking was a great gift to the family. If there is a favorite dish of his, make it. He'll say he doesn't want it, but he'll be all smiles in the inside.

Do you have regular contact or do you live with your grandpa if you don't then you don't have to mention it to him. You can tell him that you are dating a guy but you don't have to tell him that he is black. By doing this you are not sneaking around as you have told him that you are dating someone you just haven't mentioned that he is black. providing that the guy is treating you right and you like him that is all that really matters

How about a subscription to Consumer Reports or a magazine you think he'd like? Or something that you make yourself, since that would be sure to cheer him up. Can you cook? Maybe a tin of cookies or fudge?

Do you ever ask him what he like? Or what he like to have, if you don't know what to get him, try getting him a gift card so he could buy whatever he want within the price range of the gift card

Get him a picture of you - he will treasure it. Or, even better, have someone take a picture of the two of you together and put it in a frame for him.
