I am trying to edit some pictures for my myspace. But I don't know of any editors to put cool cursive text and stuff the fade like music notes into it. Do you know of any free downloadable photo editor like that on the web?

Try some of these, they are all free.
You may have to look up some tutorials to do exactly what you want ... the programs don't do all the work, you have to know how to use the tools in them to accomplish what you desire to.

what you should do is copy the pic that is in your file save it open it w/ photoshop and create the edited pic on there resave and upload to myspace.
