sounds like your missing a driver. Look through you install cd to find it.

You are probably missing the drivers for your sound card. Check the web site of your PC's manufacturer. Look up your make and model and they should them available as a free download. Follow the install instruction and you should have the sound back in no time.

Hey, its sure a driver problem...if your sound card is onboard (in the motherboard) just go to your system properties and in the sound source click on " re-install driver" and the windows will find the best one .
