I want to explain what is common denomintator to ensure you understand. Common means same thereby you want to have the same integer of denominator. That's way you can add, subtract, mulitply, or divide at the top WITH THE SAME (COMMON) DENOMINTAOR. For example, 4/3 + 5/2 and you want to have common denominator...you want to have smallest integers to get smallest answer as possible...therefore 6 is the smallest number...multiply 4/3 by 2 to get 8/6 and multiply 5/2 by 3 to get 15/6. Now you have common denominator...you can then add at top...which is 23/6. Get it? I hope so.
