Liberals are NOT for democracy--->
liberals are for getting their agenda in place
To get THEIR agenda---> they buy into lucrative "supporters" ideas, agendas and demands (i.e. gay marriage)..
Money is what buys/drives voters
Liberals appear to want ultimate tolerance for all different folks/lifestyles YET they KNOW that the common public must be managed.
to provide effective management they desire a socialistic type of government whereby which they will control the masses for their own good...if you don't buy into the xxx idea/program (i.e.global warming, expensive corn gas ,universal health care where they decide how much Is allowable for a"condition, or what is excluded based on how much $$ they feel is necessary...
ITS not that they care whether gays can or ever will be accepted as a "normal part of society...they just want their $$$//"support".

There are many liberals who have a warped sense of what democracy is. I remember seeing a St. Louis Post-Dispatch editorial many years ago which made two different points that ended up contradicting one another. At first, the editorial pointed out that one reason America has an independant judiciary is in order to keep a check on the power of the majority because the majority is not always right. The ediorial said that it was a good thing that courts protect a woman's right to abortion; that courts struck down Colorado's Amendment 2; etc., etc., because the voters are not always right.
But then the editorial changed course and started talking about the idea that voting is a civic duty and everybody should vote.
Don't ask me to explain the way these people think. Sometimes I just can't figure it out.

Actually not such a bad question. BUT - if we had let democracy totally rule we would still have slavery, segregation, women would not have a shot at equal pay for equal work, and so on. Sometimes, questions of rights need to transcend popular votes. Sounds crazy but without that you have what is called "tyranny of the majority".

If you really want to protect family values ,how come I never see it on the ballot that divorce should be made illegal. It seems to me that divorce destroys more families, than the two ladies down the street from me getting married.

Since this is democracy then the liberals have a right to complain as much as they want.

Come on, really. Neither side is really mature when it comes to politics, con or lib. If you win by popular vote, democracy counts. IF you win in court, the rule of law is what counts. Both sides do it. Its BS.
