I am not a fan of the Yankees but i agree that players like Jeter have a very good attitude and i have the same question i think that this question is very good. My answer would be because the team has a lot of money and the fans are so used to winning that they can be a little rowdy and i think the fans are a little spoiled. An example is when parents have a lot of money sometimes the kids can be spoiled (not all the time) but that is the same thing as the Yankee fans.

The only hatred I ever see in here is from the non-Yankees fans. I guess because all non-Yankees fans are just jealous of their success and wish their teams had as many championships. That jerk from the Twins has no clue about anything. All he does is wonder around this blog and hate, hate, hate. Too bad he knows nothing about baseball. Sad really because if he knew anything about the history of the game he would understand what it takes to be a winner....something he is not!! I'm not even a Yankees fan but I wish my Phillies had that kind of success.

I think the notion that Yankee fans are among the meanest and rudest fans of any team's fans stems from the Yankees' winning tradition; they are arguably the most successful franchise baseball has ever seen and with that, the fans develop a sense of pride that they are associated with a historically dominant franchise. As a result, the fans grow a massive ego and take offense to anyone who challenges their loyalty or insults their team. Hatred toward the Yankees could be as a result of their fans moreso than their players. That's how I see it.

It nauseates me to say this, as I am a Red Sox fan, but we aren't the polite Bostonians we think of ourselves as when it comes to Yankee fans either. We show hospitality to visiting Angel or Royal fans, but let anyone wear a Yankee shirt to Fenway and he is heaped with verbal abuse and offers for physical abuse. See the cited article by ESPN's Red Sox correspondent Jim Caple, no Yankee lover by any means.
In my limited experience, the scariest fans are Philadelphia fans, although I have never gone to an Oakland game, it appears that most Raider fans are on parole.

all yankee fans are nice to other yankee fans...if you are not a yankee fan we have nothing nice to say to you...
the only rivalries in baseball are the fans rivalries....
red sox fans..here is a clue....it was a fluke....it will never happen again.....so i hope you enjoyed your win bc you wont ever see it again....
and yes people do die in NY...but it happens in every state of this country....what the one person was tryin to say that when we win big a fan doesn't die like the girl in boston did and she was a boston fan...go figure....
GO YANKS!!!

MuuuuuuuuuuHaaaaaaHaaaaaaaa!
Cha-Ching Baby!
If you went to a bad movie with a bunch of over payed highly rated actors(players), wouldn't you be mad.
They are one of Americas greatest teams, that is a fact, not my team fact 2.
How would you feel and what would your demeanor be if the fans paid you (say franchise if you want) millions, heck sunshine be flying out my chimney. Whats not to be happy about, I would put on they biggest smooochie face and do all the sucking up you would want to hear for that money.
Now the fans , really are only rude when these bling-blingboys don't satisfy, by living up to whats expected of them, lets face it this is their job, isn't it? And what a great job it is. Even if they do a lousy job, more than likely they still win, don't they?
Now if you really want to see not so nice fans , come to Philly, then I don't think you would have asked this question.

Because we are serious about our team, our stadium, and our pride as the best damn fans of the greatest team in the history of organized sport. I admit we may be a little bull-headed at times and make others cry, but they should be used to the abuse by now.
