Okay, so last year for Christmas I got the SIms complete collection as a gift. Whenever I click on it to open the game, it crashes. It did this once before and I had to uninstall it. But I lost all my files. Now I am only playing one game on it, and I can't understand why its loosing memory. Is there any thing that any of you can think of that I could do to make it stop crashing without uninstalling? If you have any suggestions PLEASE post your advice! I really don't want to loose my game! lol, thank you in advance for all of your help!!!!!!

Is this Sims 1 or Sims 2?

First thing you need to do is update your sound and video drivers. Then update direct X.

Hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and go to Processes. Close all processes that are labeled "Owner" except Explorer.exe and Taskmgr.exe.

Check your specs on your video card. If your processor or memory isn't high enough, it shouldn't immediately crash. An immediate crash is usually due to the video card (the splash screen shows then it just disappears).

Exchanging your game for a different copy won't help, BTW.

It is probably the Direct X 9.0C

I had a friend who had the Sims on his and when it installed that, it started messing his computer up... I also have about 3 games I can't play because of that...

perhaps you may desire to replace. There are known updates on the video games that remedy user-friendly problems, verify on the recreation launch reveal that your recreation is as much as date. If not, bypass on the sims 3 internet site, and seem at their generally asked questions, to be sure in the event that they have a answer. Alternately, i could try saving after a couple of minutes or so, saving, then restarting the pc, and attempting it one greater time, if none of this works, you have a bad disc.

Your computer memory isn't very big. I had the same problem with Sims when i first got it. I had to upgrade my computer so i could run it. It does cost a bit but it's worth it. Go to your local computer store and get a quote.
