I had to cancel and reschedule an interview for a great job, then I missed the rescheduled interview. It was due to a lazy *** husband, and I was too embarrassed to call the guy. Now I'm screwed. I want to send him flowers or something and beg him to let me interview for this job. Any adults out there have some good ideas for getting back into his good graces? Needs to be really classy and top notch ~ I think I would have gotten the job, or at least am very qualified for it.

The interview was 180 miles away. I wouldn't even bother, but I think they have a hard time finding quality people due to their pay structure (not the industry best) but is a good place to further my career goals. I think I'm going to resend my application and resume with a short but professional letter, not too detailed, but just to let him know it was a screw up on my part but would not interfer with my job performance. They can either scrap it, or decide to interview me anyway. I figure it's worth a shot. I'll pass on the flowers though. I guess it's too cheesy.

This is a hard one to recover. You only get one chance to make a good impression with the job interview process. Being qualified for the job is only one part of getting the job. Your first impressions and later impressions on the interviewers are even more important. From the employer's perspective, it is your responsibility to ensure your transportation to the company - so really it sounds like you have not much of an excuse at hand. Also, at least you should have had the courtesy to call the interviewer instead of wasting their time. Really, you are in their black books now - as you know. Please, save the flowers or the begging - I don't think they will help your case.
If you still want to try, I suggest calling up the interviewer's personal assistant or someone who knows the interviewer well. Explain your situation, and sound really helpless and wanting the job, ask what she/he suggests you could do. Maybe the interviewer has a soft spot for something? Or you might find out there is no way to recover this botched job, in which case at least you have find out once for all.

Change your name to your old maiden name. Heck, change your first name to your middle name too. cindy SALLY Wilson. Make a new appointment and GO to the interview and get the job. Give your real social security number. If they check out any of your references, just tell those few people that you have recently filed for divorce (whether true or not) and would like to be known as the old Sally "Wilson", not Cindy Lazyguyswife. All your new colleagues will call you Ms Sally Wilson, but who cares, you're makin the big bucks now.
Hey... get me a job there too. I just got outta prison for forgery and identity theft.

Lie and say you had a death in the family. Try to sound tearful over the phone. Guaranteed to get an interview, unless they filled the position.
Make sure to be early to the interview, it looks better. Good luck!

Ha Ha, lovely. Ask if it's ok to have a 2 hour lunch break as you usually like 4-6 pints of lager to keep the shakes at bay. Trouble is, you'll prob get the job!! Poll:Asym.

If your husband stops you from your job, then I think you would need to divorce your husband and the ask for another interview and tell the guy what you did.

I'd be real surprised if they were willing to still interview you after one reschedule, then a no-show. Wouldn't give a good impression of what kind of employee you'd be.

It is business. To miss a reschedule shows them that you are not dependable. No excuses.
Keep looking.

Next time do not depend on your husband for transportation. If fact, since relationships are built on trust...I would have a come to Jesus talk with him where you do the talking, and he does the listening, and let him go if he doesn't take a lot better care of you.

Wow, this certainly is a doozy. I guess you could play on the guy's sentiments by calling him on the phone and giving him a sob story about some family emergency that "suddenly" came up.
Or just send him a note thru snail mail asking to be given one more opportunity at his company and that you feel that with your qualifications and the guy's requirements, that it would be a perfect employment match.
*Good Luck!*

I don't think mentioning your husband or sending flowers will repair the situation. Try another place.
