well if you only want 2 you'll just need a medium cage.(a fish bowl would work great as the cage),something like fish bowl rocks to but on the bottom of the cage, extra hermit crab shells that are a little bit bigger then the shells that they are in at the time that you get them,(you need extra shells because hermit crabs slowely grow and so when the shells that they are in get too small for them they move into a different shell) , you will also need 2 small dishes 1 for water and 1 for hermit crab food, which you can buy at the local pet store. Hermit crabs love places other than rocks to sleep on,so something good to get them would be a small hollow log with holes all over it.If you want them to have a play time a fantastic thing for them to play in is a medium wicker basket.make sure you watch them when they are in the wicker basket because they can climb very well.the only thyings you have to do to take care for them is make sure they always have food and water and clean out their cage every so often so they wont get smelly. It should be able to stay in your room at ALL TIMES!!! Good Luck

Hermit Crabs are easy to take care of. I own 2. They dont have to have water to get in, though it wont hurt them if you do. They dont have to have a large place to live but one large enough for two. You can buy small cages. There should be some at the store you buy the crabs at. Change the sand in the bottom (sand is fun you can get it in different colors) once every 2-3 weeks. Make sure they always have water, and buy some Hermit Crab food. And just make sure they have enough food all the time. Simple, and they dont smell.

I'm really frightened by the amount of ignorance shown by some of the people answering this thread.
They eat every day. They need to have fresh, non-chlorinated water to drink. They need to have a water dish that's deep enough that they can submerge at least part of their shell and pick up water. They need a humid environment. They need things to climb on. If you know what you're doing, they are easy to take care of. But go to http://www.hermit-crabs.com first and learn about them.
Too many people think they're disposable pets, or that they only live "a couple of years". They can live for *decades* if properly taken care of.

Theyre one of the EASIEST pets to take care of. Avoid the sun with them and make sure you give them water in a sponge thing. If it starts crawling out of its shell that means that its time for a bigger shell. Not too big though. Just a bit bigger. Good luck and I hope you find the right pet.

I have never had a hermit crab before, but my friend has, and all I know is you fill the sponge with water and feed it food, but that is all I know

Go to this website below. It tells you everything about them. They are really easy to take care of, all they need is a little attention. They are odorless and clean. I think that they are great pets.

i have 3. they're really easy to take care of, you just have to make sure they have food and water, don't believe the guy who says you don't have to feed them, they eat about every 2 weeks, but yes, they do need food. they don't smell, and you can get any size. they sell then at most pet shops.
