hmmm. i think it has a lot to do with intellegence, experience and knowledge. u need to know words to express how you feel. im really good at writing words. even when they are simple ones..they can say alot about a person. poems come easy to me. my advice is to go a bit deeper in expressing yourself. dont just say what people expect you to feel. say all the random and wild things that YOU really feel and thats what makes a poem or song great. sometime things r hard to describe..but when you find the words that are not typical..but somehow make perfect sense, people will feel you

i love to write and i found that alot of times the ones that suck are the ones that I'm trying to force out just to write something. keep a pencil and paper handy is my first objection and secondly just be passionate, think about something that hurt so bad that you had to actually stop Adan think so as your next breath will catch up with you. Or have you ever wanted to be with someone and there isn't anything stopping you but yourself. Feel your feelings And don't be scared to really feel them no matter how sad, scary, stupid sounding or gay they might seem...if you are true to yourself every song that you write will be a hit.

well it has to come from the heart i mean some people can just sit and write but others have to wait untill this urge of emotion come out so you can write. I suggest you become a member of eliteskills.com it is for writters who love poetry and it has a lot of support to improve your writting skills.

reading poems and getting into their rythm helps. You really can't force poems. or regular writing for that matter. you need to just let it come. its easiest if you pick a topic you are passionate about, or know a lot about. don't get so caught up in ryhme and stuff, some of the best poems don't ryhme.
