hmm i would just tell her the truth... the truth goes a long way.. just say hey i lost my papers can i please turn them in late... i have never had a teacher that said NO.. but they did always take off late points..

Here goes....
1. Tell 'em that your papers were lost while you were exploratory
deep-sea fishing and caught the Florida's State record tuna.
2. Reason with 'em about the logistical side of actually grading on
a learning curve set to the minds of 10th graders.
3. The only thing you have left after the major earthquake of '92
is the pen you wrote the papers with..
4. Or my old favorite....your monkey got killed after he chased the
cat up a tree and fell on a spike trap you set up for your
neighbors dog. Seeing that you loved that monkey, you had to
bury it with a full-on ceremonial rite-of-passage, which includes
burning all the fibrous material in your house. Your papers where lost in the mix.

Get a sick note form your teachers loll
or simply just tell the teacher u lost the papers...and ask her if u cud still hand it in the next day with 5 deducted points
either way, ull end up having to work your butt off tomorrow night...mayb its just better to tell the truth once in a while ;]

tell your teacher the truth, she or he would appreciate that, instead of making an excuse that probably it wont be convincing anyways.
and meanwhile try and find them or do it again. is it in your pc? print it out again but dont lie about it to your teacher

if u have a sibling, blame it on them. if u were sick, tell her u were throwing up and threw up on your papers. tell her it happened the day u got it or any time, and she wasnt listening when u told her u needed the papers.

I always used to blame a member of my family...I'd say that one of them spilt coffee or wine or something all over my work and it was completely ruined. Never failed!
