Printing with moveable letters probably began in China in the middle of the twelfth century, but it was the Mongols who employed it on a massive scale and harnessed its potential power to the needs of state administration.

The Mongols were great cultural patrons. They conceived, for example, the idea of a new written language that could be used to transcribe a number of the languages within the Mongol domains. General literacy increased during the Mongol dynasty.

The Mongols had the power, at least temporarily to impose new international systems of technology, agriculture, and knowledge that superseded the predilections or prejudices of any single civilization; and in so doing, they broke the monopoly on thought exercised by local elites.

Although he arose out of the ancient tribal past, Genghis Khan shaped the modern world of commerce, communication, and large secular states more than any other individual.

what we might call the constitutional system was introduced by the Mongols led by Genghis Khan.

Mongols were great artists, look at the intricate goldwork. oh yeah, let's not forget the yurt.

Pretty much only military skills, organization and tactics...fundamentally they were ignorant savages in all else.
