I love to do cross stitch. If you really get into it by buying the yarn, patterns, loops, etc. it can be pricey. However you can buy the little ready to stitch kits sold everywhere from hobby stores to wal-mart. They include everything from the needle to the pattern and only cost a few dollars. Sometimes I perfer to do them because they are less time consuming, and get you closer to your finished product!

Take up Salsa or Ceroc, or if you like an intellectual challenge too Tango. They are fun, active, social. Classes may be a little pricey depending on where you live but once you have learnt the basics practice is the key so going to clubs and parties is the best way to improve.
Though knitting is also a damn fine hobby, but not quite what you are looking for I don't think

How about knitting, or crochaing, you can watch tv and listen to music while you do this, it's relaxing and you can watch your project grow, scarfs are easy and then comes hats, so much fun, try it.
