Our two cats do the same. the hum it makes is comforting to them. we may not hear it, but they can, and, no harm will come to them. they watch us because we are so intent, and they are very curious animals.

Yes, I think they like the heat and also they appear to be the center of attention since you're always looking toward them.
I have 3 cats that fight for the top of the computer. When one gets down, another immediately jumps up. Sometimes 2 will get up there and kinda fight for top spot. Don't think it hurts them at all.

Yes heat goes through the computer all cats like heat except fat cats they get to hot. plus i think your cat likes to follow you. Her skin might get dry it really depends what kind of skin it has. It wont cook her unless your computer is in a oven.

She likes the heat. My iguana likes to sit on my computer because it's warm. It won't hurt her, but it might mess up your computer. If she is blocking the fans it might cause your computer to over heat.

She just likes the heat. If she gets too hot, cats are more than smart enough to move away, don't worry.

Cats love to be warm. Your cat loves the warmth of your computer. Since you are probably on it alot since it is warm. She probably also wants to know what you are doing so she stares at you.

it is the heat that attracts her too it. and no it wont cook her. she will move before it becomes unbearable. and in order for her to cook she would have to be very uncomfatable. lol

Hehe. She probally likes it cause it's nice and warm. She'll be fine. It's doesn't get THAT hot.
She probably feels closer to you there, and that's why she stares at you.
