squanto, he helped the pilgrams in plymouth county, showed them where to hunt and fish and helped teach them to grow certain crops. He also serves as an interpreter when his chief and the colonists were making a peace treaty.

The name was Squanto. He is represented on the official documents and letterhead of the School of Agriculture at the University of Illinois. The people of this country owe him much.
