Well I don't know if you've seen it before--but it's a biopic by Oliver Stone called "The Doors" about the late 60's band's lead singer Jim Morrsion who died of a heart attack (from alcohol or drugs? who knows for sure). I really liked this movie and own it on DVD because it's so colorful, the cast is great, Val Kilmer was the perfect person to play Jim Morrison--he totally looked like him--and Meg Ryan was perfect as his girlfriend Pam. The movie has all the elements of a good film--it's romantic in certain aspects, comical in others, exciting in others, and tragic in others. This was the movie that got me more interested in The Doors' music and Jim Morrison's life. As a result, after seeing this movie I read biographies about Jim Morrison; I'd heard of him before of course and had heard The Doors' music but this movie really ignited my interest. I thought it was a great portrayal of a music artist whose life went to s*&t and of the band and of the 60's (even though I wasn't yet born) and even of human relationships. Not to omit that the character Jim Morrison said some very deep things in the movie that were the real words of the real Jim Morrison's poetry.

Marty. It's a fantastic movie that almost nobody who isn't very close to movies has heard of. It won Best Picture in 1956, as well as Best Actor, Screenplay, and Director- for Ernest Borgnine, Paddy Chayevsky, and Delbert Mann, respectively. It's a simple, beautiful, lighthearted dramedy made on a zero budget, telling the story of Marty Piletti, a butcher who fears he'll be alone for the rest of his life. He's the oldest of his brothers and sisters, and is the only one not yet married. It goes without saying that he meets a girl and falls in love, an overused concept if there ever was one, but this film does it better than any other. Watch it if you can, it's kind of hard to find nowadays.

A sleeper I guess but a movie named Solaris. Sci-fi I guess would be catagory. Stars George Clooney. He plays a shrink in the future. His wife kills herself and he blames himself. Because she wanted a child and he didn't. But he goes to this space station after as mysterious things are happening there. And includes hallucinations of loved ones. And he sees her again. He loved her so much and she loved him. But bottom line is it is about about forgiveness and love. Beautiful love story.
Also another favorite, is a mystery. Kevin Spacey won Oscar for it. Also considered a sleeper. Called Usual Suspects. He was absolutely great! Had everyone fooled. Even the viewer. Have to see it to know what I mean.

I loved the Prestige. It had a lot of interesting information about magicians. I liked the tie in with Tesla.

My favorite old movie is Bringing Home Baby with Katherine Hepburn and her pet cheetah. It is so funny.

I also liked Continental Divide with John Belushi. It was hysterical.

"Life As A House" is an amazing movie. It stars Kevin Kline and Hayden Christensen. It is about Kevin Kline's character George tearing up his house and rebuilding it with his estranged son, Hayden's character Sam. It struck a nerve with me because it focuses on flaws we all have. We all have parents that we wish did things differently and wish they understood us 100% of the time. It is worth a view because it shows us it is never too late to do something that is important to you. Even when time is limited.

My favorite movie is probably Fight Club because it is a very interesting movie. Another reason why I favor Fight Club over many movies is because the actors are great and the endsing is amazing.

Donnie darko is cool too.

I loved Shawshank Redemption. It was such a good story, no boring parts, and no parts where you sat scratching your head wondering what was going on. The acting was excellent especially by Morgan Freeman, and also some teary-eyed scenes. So very well written.

Star Trek II: the Wrath of Khan...

It fulfills all of my needs as a Star Trek fan, plus it has symbolism, sacrifice, loyalty, and a sense of duty and revenge. Stylish, slick, and a Christ character who, in truth, has gone unnoticed as he gives himself up for the good of a race that he isn't even a part of...

I enjoyed it
