Yes if you factor in the price and the technology it brings.
First from the technology point of view. Acura is going all out with its proprietary 4WD system which is dubbed Super Handling All Wheel Drive, or SH-AWD for short. This new system that first introduced in the new RL is now making its way as standard equipment on the MDX. This new system varies power not only from the front wheels to the back, but also side to side (full 0-100% power). This system gives the car a very controlled feeling when turning on high speed.
One of the most desirable feature on the MDX is its active damper system available on the higher end trim. With the SH-AWD you can basically go crazy when taking a turn, but at the expense of your guts thrown sideways. This is because MDX stock suspension although firm also can get a bit squishy at times especially on high cornering situation. The active damper system can adjust how the suspension setup on the MDX to behave under comfort or sport setting. Obviously, when it is switched to sport setting, the suspension will be more firmer and can give more stability on high cornering situation... Although I really didn't understand who would do that with an SUV.
For those who are concerned about big SUV tipping off on high cornering situation, Acura's SH-AWD also works with the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) function.
And there's the price point. For all its worth, it is comparable to Volvo XC90, a BMW X5 3.0i, and a Porsche Cayenne 3.2. However, Temple of VTEC assessment of the car put it squarely on the top from price performance ratio.
I've test driven Japanese spec Honda Legend (Acura RL) with SH-AWD, and I can attest all the reviews available that SH-AWD really gives a heightened sense of control, especially on high cornering situation.
One thing I don't like about the MDX is the cluttered audio control, just look at those seemingly infinite buttons. However, once you get the hang of it, controlling audios will be much more easier than the dial-a-thon i-Drive system on the BMW.
For a complete breakdown of the feature which MDX has, click the link on my source list of a review from Temple of VTEC. If I live in America and have 50 thousand greenbacks, I'd buy the MDX post haste. But meh... I'm patient enough for the MDX to be converted as a right hand driven car and be launched in Japan.

I actually have a 05 Acura TL and just bought my wife the 06 MDX. She absolutely loves it!!!! It is a really smooth ride and quite on the road. No complaints at all except when it got cold outside.....(I live in Florida too by the way) the tire pressure sensor went off but was easily fixed by adding air to the tire. Outstanding vehicle!!! And very nice interior and the best thing is it comes fully loaded basically with only option being navi and DVD. Everything else is standard. We love our Acura's!!!

When you consider what you get (check the features and specifications) for the price of an Acura MDX (including excellent quality) it is definitely a good buy. At the same time, you might want to check out the Honda Pilot.

the brand new ones are so much better than the older models. the 2007 are beter on gas, and have better electronics. the mdx is definitly worth it. if your looking for a cheaper version try the rdx. they are great cars too.

How much is it? And you mention "LIFETIME" warranty? Are you sure about that? It might have "pre-owned" warranty that warranties it x-miles or y-years after the basic warranty, but I doubt it would be a lifetime warranty. As for the vehicle, how much? If it's under $25K it's a good deal, if over, then too much. Anything over $30K and it's a bad deal.

Worth will depend on how you like it. It's a good crossover. However there are better choices out there.
