I honestly think it was a toss up, Michigan just passed all over the field on them and USC just defensively dominated them.

USC by far!! They had control the whole game. I think they can beat Ohio ST if it happens. I'll get alot of argument's there.

Notre Dame simply didn't show up for that game. And they, like USC haven't exactly had the toughest schedules. They also just got done beating the three service academies. Not exactly a huge challenge. Michigan is a better team, and they hung in with Ohio State up until the end, and among the 1 loss teams, usc shouldn't be ranked where they are, considering they lost to the unranked Beavers. Rutgers suffered a serious fall when they lost to Cincy. Biased voting and formulas? You make the call.

I would give it to Michigan because they went to Notre Dame and played great. The only real factor in that game was intimidation of facing there first ranked team. And Chad Henne doesn't usually through the best and he excelled in that game. USC played them on there own turf and beat them at almost the same score. USC I think had more passing than Michigan but I am not so sure about rushing for Mike Hart on Michigan was, a Heisman contender.

I answer this question with caution, since I had given my opinion to a question earlier regarding USC, and I think that Yahoo is a USC fan.

No one gave Michigan a chance against ND, then they went in to South Bend and totally dominated them, up and down the field all game.
ND went to USC an underdog. Very few, if any, experts gave ND a chance to win, so their loss wasn't a surprise to anyone who knows anything about college football.

In my totally biased opinion, I think that Ohio State and Michigan should be playing for the national title. You say, 'why should they play again, they already played?' I say that the two best teams in the country should play for the national title every year, and Ohio State and Michigan are the two best teams in the country this year, regardless of their rankings; BCS, AP, Harris,etc.....

USC lost, to The Oregon State Beavers (very unranked, all year, all polls) ND lost B I G to Michigan 47 - 21.....in South Bend and BIG to USC 44 - 24.....AT USC.

Bottom line, Michigan lost to Ohio State, who has been # 1 all year (including the preseason) at OSU, by 3 points.....USC lost to Oregon State ( who hasn't been ranked at all this year, in any poll, even after they beat USC ) ......if that doesn't merit a rematch ( on a neutral field ), then you are a fan whose team is trying to get into the national title game, or, you just don't want to see the best two teams play for the national title.

I won't fault anyone, ever, for being a fan of their team, I never have. If you have a favorite team you should defend them, always, but, if your team isn't one of the two best teams in the country, then you should be happy that the two best teams in the country are playing for the national title.....

PLEASE, don't root (or RANK) against a team just because you don't like them. As fan of college football you should always want to see the two best teams in the country play for the national title, each, and every year. That is what the BCS was created for, to end the arguing amongst all fans throughout the country, and crown a true national champion.

At the end of it all, USC's or Michigan's worst scenario is playing in the Rose Bowl, in my opinion the greatest of all bowls (also it was the first ever bowl game....Jan. 1,1902 Michigan 49 - Stanford 0)
So I'm not complaining that Michigan might not make the BCS NC game, I'm saying, simply, that the two best teams in the country should play for the national title....every year.

Michigan's is they won when Notre Dame was ranked higher and won at South Bend. Also by 26. USC did play as good as Michigan but you have to look at the facts, not the front of the jerseys.

Michigan was more impressive.

USC is a very young team and still flawed. Look at the meltdown in the second quarter. Take that away and they played just as well as Michigan.

But Dwayne Jarretts performance was much more impressive than any Michigan receiver.

Michigan because they beat them in South Bend. If USC played ND in South Bend you would see a closer result or maybe even ND winning. Home field means alot in College Football.

micagans was most impressive. I'm a big notre dame fan and I think michagan because when USC won, Notre Dame wasn't going to be in the championship unless a miracle happened. When Michagan beat them, everbody thought Notre Dame would run the table and go undeafeted. It don't really matter who gets to go to the championship because ohio st. will beat Michagan or USC.

I particularly think of Notre Dame can win. in certainty, having watched Alabama conflict and lose against A&M, and conflict to win a recreation they could have lost against LSU convinces me that the Tide are eminently beatable. you may nicely be precise the Notre Dame would be outclassed, yet i think of you're in basic terms as probably to be incorrect. particularly i don't anticipate a blowout with the aid of the two team. So excuse me if i'm not inspired with the aid of your rant question.
