You did not mention if you have ever been to any of the parks before?? I am going to assume not so that means you have to go to the Magic Kingdom, it is based on Walt’s Original vision unlike the other parks (one could argue for EPCOT but Walt’s concept was much different from what actually opened in 1982). So with 6 hours I would do the following attractions to get a feel for the Magic Kingdom.
First thing get Fastpass for Space Mountain
Head to Fantasyland and go to Mickeys Philharmagic
Go on Small World
Head to Liberty Square go on Haunted Mansion
Splash Mountain
Pirates
Jungle Cruise
Get a Dole Whip in Adventureland,
Head back to tomorrowland, use your fastpass…if you start out first thing I bet you could do everything on here..

Disney World can be just as crowded if not more crowded than Disneyland. For each park, the crowd level is dependent upon the time of year. And yeah, since Disney World consists of Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Blizzard Beach & Typhon Lagoon (2 different water parks) while Disneyland is just California Adventure and Disneyland, Disney World has more variety. But I wouldn't say it's better. Most people think some of the rides that both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland have in common are better at Disneyland like Pirates of the Carribean.

We like MGM. Our ages are 42, 40, & 11. I think MGM offers the most bang for the buck.
EPCOT is great too, rides like Mission Space and the Test Track are pretty wild. But after the rides, you have the different countries you mite find interesting but the kids? They also have a spectacular light and firworks show, but with your time constraints I don't know if you would catch it.
MGM has The Tower of Terror, Aerosmith, and plenty of other things for young and kind of young. Whatever park you choose 6 hours is a tough time limit.
The do not call it Walt Disney World, (world being the stressed word) for nothing!

It's really too bad you can't stay longer, you won't be able to do much in six hours, but you can certainly make the most of it. EPCOT is my favorite park at Walt Disney World and if I were given six hours to spend at any park, I'd pick EPCOT. There's a few great rides that I'm sure your children will love. First, there's Mission: SPACE which is one of the most intense thrill rides at Walt Disney World. Then there's Test Track, one of my favorite rides. It's like being in one of the vehicles at a real GM test track. Finally, there's Soarin', where you can feel like you're actually flying over the state of California. You'll fly over the ocean, the mountains, the Golden Gate Bridge, and even Disneyland, California. If you have time ride Spaceship Earth inside the Geosphere. It's classic! While you're there, eat at the Coral Reef Restaurant or Le Cellier Steakhouse. They serve some of the most delicious, freshest food! If you're there in the evening, don't miss IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. It's the most incredible fireworks/pyrotechnics show.
Hope I could help! Have fun!

Six hours is not enough time to get from one park to another
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/index?bhcp=1
This official WDW-Orlando site is a great site for planning, and it has maps of each themepark.
Epcot has the most to learn....has rides, and the countries are interesting for adults and children.
The 10 year old might like the rides at the Magic Kingdom and I think they're all good except most lines are at least 1/2 hour to 1 hour....and after you get a fast pass...you can't get any other fast pass in that park.
MGM has the Aerosmith Rockin Roller Coaster - that was a blast..literally.
Aerosmith's having a backstage party across town and you're invited. Ready to brave the LA freeways? Zoom from 0-60 mph with the force of a supersonic F-14, take in high-speed loops and turns synchronized to a specially recorded Aerosmith soundtrack and zip through Tinseltown in the biggest, loudest limo you've ever seen.
The last thing you see....is a sign ...Rock ON!
I usually spend about 6 hours at each park...so if you go to the WDW site, you can plan what you want to do.
...................ROCK ON!

I am 14 years old and I love Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom! It is a fun roller coaster ride through the dark. I would also recommend Soarin' and Test Track at Epcot and Tower of Terror and the Aerosmith Coaster at MGM. The Fantasmic show at MGM is awesome too! However you said you had 6 hours so this would depend on what time you went. Also these attractions depend on what parks you go to. Hope you have fun!

Depends on the park really..For kids that age you should have went to Universal (Better rides). In that short of time i suggest you eat before you get into the park and then when you leave eat again.Saves you a ton of time and money. Also you might want to spring for the fast pass.It lets you skip the lines. Its about 10-15 dollars more but I'd think you'd be able to ride everything. I've been to disney a good 5 times.Your going to have a blast.

6 hours???
geez.
6 days isn't even enough.
But, I'd definitely go to the Magic Kingdom. Its a classic favorite.
I would do the 3 mountains (Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain) because they are somewhat thrill rides and I get a kick out of all of them.
I'd definitely do Pirates of the Caribbean because its fun, and even better now that they have added Captain Jack Sparrow, Captain Barbossa, and Davy Jones.
I'd do its a small world because its one of my favorite classics and Peter Pan's Flight because I love Peter Pan and I think its the best "fairy tale ride" in Fantasyland.
:)
Oh and there's hardly ever a wait time for Mickey's Philhar Magic, so I would definintely do that because its the best 3-D show ever!

go for the classics at the magic kingdom if you have a day. 6 hours won't come close to anything. the kids will like the moderate coasters -- nothing too scary. space mountain, thunder mountain, splash mountain, pirates, haunted mansion, parades, character meet and greets, i think the most bang goes with the classics.
epcot is a little more adult and you might want to wait til they are a little older.
if they like bigger coasters and thrill rides go with universal islands of adventure. spiderman is by far the best ride in any of the parks. you get the hulk and dueling dragons (2 coasters in one) a large jurrasic park area dr seuss land is great for photo ops and eating green eggs.

Visit one of the parks or a water park like Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon!
For the ages you mentioned, the Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom would be a good bet. At MK, be sure to go on all of the Mountains (splash, thunder and space) and see the show, Philharmagic.
At DAK, be sure to go on the Safari, Everest, Dinosaur, Kali River Rapids, and see the Festival of the Lion King Show!
