My baby is 5 months old and we have bought 2 bottle brush cleaners already. I was wondering instead of using the bottle brush and nipple cleaner. Is there anything else I might could use?

THE BRUSHES ARE ONLY A COUPLE OF BUCKS, YOU CAN NOT BOIL THE NIPPLE MORE THAN ONCE FOR THE INITIAL USE, BECAUSE IT BECOMES WEAK AND IT COULD DISLODGE FROM THE BOTTLE RING AND YOUR BABY COULD CHOKE ON IT SO DO NOT BOIL THE NIPPLES MORE THAN ONCE AND SPEND THE COUPLE OF BUCKS ON THE BOTTLE BRUSHED, AND HE IS ONLY SUPPOSE TO BE ON THE BOTTLE UNTIL HE IS ONE SO IT WILL COST YOU LESS THAN $10.00 TO REPLENISH THEM..

I would buy 6 9oz bottles, any less and you would forever be cleaning and sterilising, any more and you probably wouldn't get them all in the steriliser all at once. No point buying the smaller bottles as he/she will need the bigger ones before you know it. As for the 11oz ones, my baby is nearly 9 months and he has never needed a bottle bigger than 9oz. Only once or twice has he drunk more than nine ounces, and then I just made a couple more ounces up in the same bottle when he had finished! The teats, I would buy enough for all the bottles plus a couple extra, and I would buy the normal 3m ones. We bought the slower ones at first and the baby was sucking on it and hardly getting anything out! The midwife advised us to change to the 3m ones as most babies are happier with these, and they are the ones the hospital supply, so that was what he was used to. Anyway, good luck, happy shopping!

you still need a bottle brush to get off any milk proteins that cling inside the bottle (that's what makes bottles stain if juice is put in after milk), but for the nipples, I just always turned them inside out to clean, putting them inside a net bag on the top rack of the dishwasher. And I didn't replace the bottle brush like they said, I just ran it through the dishwasher to sanitize it and used the same one for the whole year he was on the bottle. He never had any problems.

What kind of Baby brush are you getting, I had mine forever.I suggest that you go to the store and look at the bottle brushes and pick the best one. You can put water and a little soap in the bottle and shake it up to clean the bottom. then when you are ready to clean them in the dish washer or Turn them upside down on a rack and put them into a large pot and boil them Then they will be sterilized,

I use the Dr. Brown bottle brushes and it has lasted a long time. You can use this brush on all types of bottles.

Fill your sink with hot soapy water wash the nipples in that, drain it and rinse the nipples well with more hot clean water{i used to poor boiled water from the kettle over them} set them on a clean towel to air dry.

i use pipe cleaners instead because they get into it better and you can buy alot at one time for way less then the bottle brushes.

nope that brush is the best thing to use. They are only like a $1.00 though. I would rather use them then have a dirty bottle.
